When Christmas time came, we always tried to travel to Murfreesboro,Ar to see our kinfolk. When Granny was living out her last years, she lived with Freddy and Berthel. Granny was blind and bedridden as I remember her. She stayed in a bedroom in the Dean's home. Judy and I became friends as well as cousins, and sometimes I spent the night with her. At night we took a bath in an old iron tub on the screened-in back porch. In December the water could get cold very quickly! Freddy and Berthel lived only about a block from my grandparents, Wesley and Elsie Fox.
