W. IRVIN COUSINS W. Irvin Cousins, 90, of Las Vegas, passed away June 3, 2017.
Irv was born Dec. 10, 1926, in Baltimore, Md. He graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk, Va., served in the U.S. Air Force from 1944-1946 and graduated from the University of Virginia in 1949.
He earned his Maryland CPA Certificate in 1951 and worked as an accountant for over 40 years.
Irv became the first Finance Officer for the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada from 1992-2011 when he retired.
He served under three Episcopal Bishops during his tenure. Irv served as Treasurer of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Poplar Springs, Md., and The Shade Tree, Las Vegas.
Irv was the former Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Director of Thulman Eastern Corp. of Ellicott City, Md.
He was also Director of Maryland Association of CPA's, Central Maryland Publishers, Inc., and Seat Pleasant Building and Loan Association.
He was a former Governor-appointed member of the Howard County, Md.
Board of Election Supervisors representing the Republican Party and former President and Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of North Baltimore.
Irv is survived by his wife, of 51 years, Betty-Jeanne; his daughters, Courtney Wood of Albuquerque, N.M., Mitsi Wood of Louisa, Va., and Tracy Cousins of Westminster, Md.
Irv leaves behind seven grandchildren, Hunter Wood, Ashton Wood, Leslie Wood, Pike Wood, Katie Martin, Paige Martin and Mitchell Martin.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Epiphany Episcopal Church, 10450 Gilespie St., Las Vegas, NV 89183. Reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Epiphany Episcopal Church Memorial Fund in memory of Irv.
