Our precious mother, Janie Annell Reeves Blanchard, a resident of Zachary, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the age of 83. She was born on September 9, 1933 in Gloster, MS.
She was retired from Greenwell Springs Hospital where she was known as Ms. 'B' or 'Precious'. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her family with all of her heart.
She is survived by her children, Helen Carmona (Paul), Noel Wilkinson, Danny "Poolie" Wilkinson (Trudy) and Trena Harris (Andy), 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great grandchildren and best friend of many years Laverne Valentine.
She is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Edmond "PeeWee" Blanchard, parents, Clifford and Annie Reeves, sister, Mable Reeves, daughters, Debra and Carolyn Ann Wilkinson, son-in-law, Jimmy "Bug" Galloway, grandson, Derrick Barton and granddaughter Jessica Newburn.
Visitation is at Milldale Baptist Church on Monday, June 19 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, with funeral services starting at 11:00 am, officiated by Brother Danny Greig. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Shane Lafferty, Colby Wilkinson, Ben Wilkinson, Terry Galloway, Paul Carpenter and Michael Mann. Honorary pallbearers are Bro. Danny Greig, Bro. Jimmy Robertson, Bro. Sonny Holland and Bro. Clinton Lee.
She was a very special lady that was loved by all and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She is at peace now with her Lord and Savior.
Special thanks to Grace Nursing Home, New Century Hospice, Baton Rouge Hospice and especially Mel, Tarsha, Kristen and all of her "Shirley's." In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Milldale Baptist Church building fund.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith' 2 Timothy 4:7.
