Abelino was born in 1933 in Valencia County, NM to Manuel and Josefita Otero.
In 1953, he married the love of his life and soulmate, Lorance.
Nino was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Navy.
Nino retired from the BNSF Railroad after over 30 years of service.
Nino enjoyed spending his free time playing golf with family and friends, watching old westerns and cheering on his San Francisco 49ers. Above all, his true joy was building ever lasting memories with his family and he will be greatly missed by those who love him.
Nino was preceded in death by his wife, Lorance, parents, Manuel and Josefita, brothers, Alferes, Flavio, Johnny and Avilio, in-laws, Efren and Helen Apodaca and granddaughter, María.
Abelino is survived by his children, Rick Otero and his wife, Loretta, Diane Córdova and her husband, Andy, Lillian Otero and Cindy Girón and her husband, Eloy, eight loving grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, on Thursday, June 15, 2017. A Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.
