Ira Louis Beam was born on February 12, 1928. He passed away on June 18, 2016. He was 88 years, 4 months, and 6 days old.
Ira was born in Shawnee, OK. He was one of ten children. He quit school in high school and joined the United States Navy in April of 1946. He served two years, completing his enlistment in April of 1948.
Ira married Stella Krumsiek on March 16, 1950. They moved to Texas and started their family. They had four children from 1951 to 1962. Ira worked many years for FMC Technology as an inspector until retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed working in his garden, playing with his many cats, and visits from his children and grandchildren.
Ira is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Cleotah Beam; his wife of 65 years, Stella; his daughter, Kathy White; and many of his brothers and sisters.
Ira leaves behind his daughter Delma Myers of Humble TX; daughter Virginia (Ginger) Hosford and husband, Doug, of Magnolia, TX; and son Ira Beam, Jr of New Caney, TX. He has nine grandchildren, Steven Myers, Scott Myers, Kimberly Froyd, Kristy Mendez, Joseph Beam, Jenny Hughey, Kati Beam, Amanda Villareal, and Steven White. He is a great grandfather to eleven great grandchildren, Hailee, Donovan, Ethan, Julian, Jenna, Michelson, Nathan, Kennedy, Michael, Meygan, and Moises. He leaves behind his sister Faye Bastion of Stillwater, OK; and sister, Doris Boudreaux and husband, Gilbert of Huffman, TX.
He has numerous nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends.
