Elizabeth Arms is believed to have been born in Breckinridge County, Kentucky, based on information from her marriage records with John Nevitt and James Quiggins. Kentucky is also suggested as her birthplace on her 1850 and 1860 US Census records, but Virginia is suggested on her 1870 and 1880 US Census records. Her birthdate of June 14, 1826 is based on online information dated 7 April 2000 from D_CONNOR on RootsWeb but has not been independently verified. Her parents have not yet been identified. Elizabeth lived for some time in Breckinridge County, Kentucky, circa 1840 to 1880 based on U.S. Census records. Elizabeth was the mother of Simeon Armes (father unidentified*), Manerva Carman Spencer (father Hezekiah Carman), and the following children fathered by John Nevitt: Mary Ellen, Susan Frances, Thomas William, Ezra Washington, and John Malcom. Elizabeth is thought to have married: Hezekiah Carman in 1849; John Nevitt on 26 Dec 1854 in Breckinridge Co., KY; and James Quiggins on 19 Jan 1871 in Hardinsburg, Breckinridge Co., KY. Elizabeth's place and date of death (before 1900?) are unknown.
