Anna Pillsworth Ryan, 96, formerly of Watervliet and Latham, was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary Schlosser Pillsworth. Raised in Watervliet and Menands, she attended St. Vincent's School in Troy and Watervliet Public Schools. Following high school, she attended comptometer school in Albany. She also attended classes at Hudson Valley Community College and NYS Urban Center. She was first employed as a comp-tometer by F.C. Huyck & Sons in Rensselaer and later at the A&P Warehouse office. She later worked for the NYS Dept of Labor/Unemployment Insurance. Most recently she worked for the D&H Railroad from 1968 until her retirement in 1981. She was a communicant of St. Brigid's Church in Watervliet and has resided at the Teresian House since March, 2007. Wife of the late Lawrence J. "Buddy" Ryan; mother of six including the late Lawrene DuPont; sister of Mary Gottschalk of Colonie and the late Laura Fredenburgh, Barbara Acquard and Josephine Dwyer. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
