Conley Scott was born April 12, 1933, in Eldon, Iowa, to Bert and Sydney (Dodds) Scott and was the youngest of six children.

He passed away June 10, 2017, at his home in Des Moines.

Conley served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He retired from Fryes Manufacturing after many years of service to make a career in kitchen remodeling.

Conley was a member of the Altoona Lions Club and he enjoyed gambling, fishing, and hunting. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Conley is survived by his daughter, Susan Dilks; grandchildren, Chris Dilks, James Dilks, and Cassie DeHamer; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Michael (Barbara) Aubrey; sisters-in-law, Jean (Jim) Gorham and Sandra (Chuck) Hudnall; as well as many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia (Aubrey) Scott; sons, David Scott and Jeffrey Scott; parents, Bert and Sydney (Dodds) Scott; siblings, Mildred, William, Dick, Charlotte “LaVelle” and Olive; and parents-in-law, W. Dean and Evelyn Aubrey.

Cremation has occurred and inurnment will take place at a later date at the Altoona Cemetery. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW in Altoona.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Iowa in loving memory of Conley.
