Ernest Kaiser Funeral Rites
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, June 30, at 1:30 o'clock for Ernest G. Kaiser, 76, at the Monona Methodist church with Rev. Paul V. Clements officiating.
The body lay in state at the church from 12:30 o'clock in the afternoon until the time of the services. Burial was in the Monona I. O. O. F. cemetery.
Mr. Kaiser died early Sunday morning, June 27, 1965, at the Postville hospital, where he had been a patient for several months.
He was born a son of J. F. W. William and Augusta, Nee Groth, Kaiser near National in Clayton county, Dec. 4, 1888. He was educated in the rural schools and the Hawkeye Business school of Cedar Rapids.
He was married to Sidnie Hupfer in the Hupfer home, Jan. 16, 1912.
Mr. Kaiser was engaged in the grocery business in Monona for several years, and as a painter, carpenter, and handy man in later years. He was a member of Clayton Lodge No. 70 A.F. & A.M. in Monona.
Preceding him in death were his parents and five brothers, Emil, Arno, Julias, Edmund, and Raymond.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Delpha) Thiele of Hinsdale, Ill.; a son, Virgil of Monona; five sisters, Mrs. Fred (Amelia) Drahn, Mrs. Carl G. (Frieda) Schultz, Miss Else Kaiser, and Mrs. Vern (Hildegarde) Kishman of Monona, and Mrs. Irene Hoferer of Des Moines; two brothers, Arthur F. of Monona and Emil W. of Larned, Kan.; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Arno Kaiser, Mrs. Edmund Kaiser, and Mrs. Mildred Kaiser; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
