A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, in Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel for Nellie Cantwell, who died Oct. 30 at age 97.
Mrs. Cantwell was born March 19, 1900, in Indian Territory, Okla. Her maiden name was Wiles. She moved to the Portland area in 1944. She was a cook in various restaurants in Portland and retired in 1962.
Survivors include her sons, Richard of Fairview, and William and Charles, both of Roseburg; daughters, Betty Brown of Battle Ground, Wash., Joyce Wooten of Portland, Dean Matile of Gladstone and Wanda Hurtt of Springfield; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Vancouver, Wash. The family suggests remembrances to the American Heart Association in Vancouver, or American Diabetes Association, Washington Affiliate, 3434 Martin Way N.E., Olympia, Wash. 97506.
