Patricia Gailfus, age 87, of Rolla, ND passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Presentation Medical Center, Rolla, ND.
Patricia T. Gailfus was born on June 3, 1930 in the Rolla/Belcourt area to Charles and Mary (Jeanotte) McCloud. She attended St. Ann’s Mission School in Belcourt and furthered her education in Marty, SD, obtaining her nursing degree at St. Andrew’s in Bottineau. Patricia was a nurse in Rolla and Belcourt for many years. She was involved in Fetal Alcohol Syndrome research on the Turtle Mountain Reservation and was instrumental in starting the nursing program at Turtle Mountain Community College, where she taught until her retirement. She traveled all over the United States for her work and especially liked going to Albuquerque, NM and Washington, DC. Patricia enjoyed golfing, watching “Twin’s” baseball, and “Vikings” football. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and being together with family. She also liked to cook, bake, and to be outdoors in her garden. Patricia was an active member of the St. Joachim Altar Society as well as a member of the church. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family members and many friends throughout the community.
Patricia is survived by her children, David “Charlie” (Rena) Gailfus of LaBarge, WY, Ross (Beth) Gailfus of Detroit Lakes, MN, Rodney “John” of Rolla, ND, and Mary Jean “Sam” Gailfus of Fargo; daughter-in-law‘s, Ginger Gailfus of Rolla and Amy Bradley of Rock Lake; 13 grandchildren, Scott (Sarah) Gailfus, Callie (Scott) Langtry, Mikki Gailfus, Afton Moneypenny, RJ Gailfus, Jennifer Gailfus, Cherish Gailfus, Adam (Serena) Mickelson, Sara Mickelson, Ben Gailfus, Jeffery Gailfus, Ryan Gailfus, and Kyle Gailfus; four great grandchildren, Emma Gailfus, Brody Gailfus, Milo Mickelson, and Kynzie Gailfus; and siblings, Betty Keegan, Norma Cedarstrom, and Jerry McCloud.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Michael “Mick” Gailfus and Richard “Rick” Gailfus, and brother, Charles McCloud.
