DEATH OF A. COSH.
The sad news of the death of Mr. Andrew Cosh which occurred last night at 8:30 at his home on North Pine street was learned with much regret by the entire community . . . Andrew Cosh was 55 years of age and was born at Wigtonshire, Scotland, where he spent his young manhood days. He then went to Manchester, England, where 30 years ago he united in marriage to Margaret Nicholson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Nicholson, sr., of this city. They remained at Manchester for a time and in the year 1881 emigrated to America, coming directly to Grand Island to make their home. It was in the year of November that they arrived in this city, Thomas Robinson arriving in the city on the same day. Mr. Cosh took up work at once at Wolbach's store where he has held a position ever since. He was a tremendous worker and a very steady man, and to this in part is attributed the loss of his health. Very few men are so well known and thought of in this city. . . Mr. Cosh took a very prominent part in public affairs and served as a public official to the end. He served two terms as a member of the city council and was serving his ninth year as a member of the school board and . . .was a well known lodge man. He was a past master of the Masons, a member of the Royal Highlanders, the A.O.U.W., Degree of Honor and Modern Woodman.

The Cosh home, where there are left to mourn a wife and six children, is deep in sorrow. . . The six children are William Cosh of Omaha, Miss Jessie, Mayme, Richard, Andrew and Margaret. Besides these the deceased has a sister, Mrs. Mary Cosh Pringle, living at Portland, Oregon, and a sister and a brother still live in Scotland. . .
