Born August 11, 1919, in Cowpens, he was the son of the late William Sterling and Lillie (Hammett) Mullinax.
He served with the U.S. Army in World War II, retired from Hoechst Fibers, was a farmer, and the oldest member of Southside Baptist Church in Gaffney.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, Anna Lou (Cash) Mullinax, he is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Floyd and her husband Sandy of Spartanburg; a son, Jerry R. Mullinax and his wife Tammy of Cowpens; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Mullinax was predeceased by thirteen brothers and sisters and was the last surviving member of his family.
Visitation was held 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, February 12, 2007, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services were at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Wofford Caughman and the Rev. Gregory Dry. Burial was in Cowpens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, 204 West Oneal Street, Gaffney, SC 29340.
