George W. Hoke, age 85, a resident of the Masonic Village and formerly of Millersburg passed away on Tuesday, June 6th, 2017.

He was born in Elizabethville the son of the late Homer and Verna Moyer Hoke. He was the widower of Rose Shrawder Hoke.
He was a graduate of the former Elizabethville High School and a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from Cigna.
George was a member and past financial secretary at First UM Church in Millersburg, member of Susquehanna Lodge #364 F&AM; Harrisburg consistory, Tall Cedars Lodge #125 where he was past grand tall and past scribe, Zembo Shrine, Upper Dauphin Shrine Club where he was past president, American Legion in Elizabethville and the NRA.

Surviving are two daughters Mona Harner of Millersburg and Cathy Hoke of Harrisburg; a grandson Jeremy Harner and wife Jackie of Gilbertsville, two great granddaughters Lillian and Ella; three sisters Marie Smith of Dallas, TX, Elma Harder of Elysburg and Florence Travitz of Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by brothers Clair, Allen, Ralph and David, a sister Pauline Jury, and his son-in-law Jeffery Harner.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 am on Thursday June 15th, 2017. Masonic rites will begin at 10:45 followed by the service at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church in Millersburg. Burial with military honors to follow at St. Johns Cemetery in Berrysburg.
