Paul Carpenter, age 79, of Yukon, passed away Monday in Yukon. He was born in OKC and had been living in Yukon since 1960, coming here from Stroud, OK.

Paul had been part owner of the chevy dealership in Stroud with his father & brother before moving to Yukon and buying the OTASCO store. He and his son Buddy now run the store as Ace Hardware on Main Street. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Yukon, the Yukon American Legion Post for over 60 years, and retired from the Yukon Volunteer Fire Dept. after 20 years. Paul was a past member of the Yukon School Board and Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors: wife, JoAnn, of the home, sons Buddy & wife, Judy, and Tom & wife, Sheri, all of Yukon, daughter, Chris Ann Lee, of Yukon, brother, Jack & wife, June, of Stroud, 4 grandchildren: Holly Jones, and Jaime, Kali, and Karla Carpenter, one great grandson: Tristan Jones, and 3 nephews and 4 nieces.

A private family burial will be held in the Yukon Cemetery and a public Memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 23 in the First United Methodist Church in Yukon.
