Merle Stanley McBrayer, 68, passed away peacefully Monday, June 5, 2017 at his home in Pontotoc County.

Stanley was born January 19, 1949 to Merle and Nora Lee Gaines McBrayer. He married Dianne Graham on January 19, 1968. Following high school, he became a member of the U.S. Army where he served two years in Germany during the Vietnam War. Stanley was a retired truck driver of 40 years, of which 23 years were with Action Lane Industries. He was known by many as “Haymaker”. He was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church. He enjoyed life and was most happy spending time outdoors with his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Baker officiating. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery. Tutor Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 6 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM and Wednesday, June 7 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM all at Friendship Baptist Church.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dianne Graham McBrayer; sons, Stephen McBrayer (Crystal) and Patrick McBrayer (Christi); grandchildren, Bailey McBrayer, Brooke McBrayer, Mackenzie Moorman (Cody Verell), Cole Moorman, and Macy Ruth; great-grandchildren, Cayson, Presleigh Kate, and Mollie Jensen; sister, Cathy Mayo (Steve); brother-in-law, Jerry Raines (Luwanda); mother-in-law, Margie Graham.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Nora Lee Gaines McBrayer; sisters, Brenda McBrayer and Judy Raines; father-in-law, Oliver Graham.

Pallbearers are Bradley Mayo, Jeremy Raines, Lee Graham, Gable Todd, Steve Knight, Todd Curtis, and Spencer Davis. Honorary Pallbearers are Steve Mayo, Lamon Graham and Jerry Raines.
