Daniel M. Brumbaugh

Daniel Metzker Brumbaugh of 301 East Allegheny Street, Martinsburg, died at his home at 6:45 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, July 30, 1952, after an illness of four weeks.
He was born at Martinsburg, R. D., in the Piney Creek area, Nov. 12, 1876, a son of John H. and Rebecca Anne (Metzker) Brumbaugh.
He married Miss Minnie Snare January 1, 1903, at Cumberland, Md.
Mr. Brumbaugh followed the occupation of farming until ten years ago when he accepted employment with the district office of the state highway department at Hollidaysburg, from which he retired three years ago.
He was a member of the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Martinsburg.
Surviving are his wife, five daughters; Mrs. Hazel Wyles of Altoona, Mrs. Fleda Corle of Woodbury, Miss Ethel M. Brumbaugh of York, Mrs. Gladys Smith of Martinsburg and Mrs. Grace Hoffman of Lancaster; one son, Glen H. Brumbaugh of Altoona; one brother, Samuel of Martinsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Loose of Williamsburg, R. D., and Mrs. James Gorsuch of Duncansville; two half-brothers, Blair, of Martinsburg and Howard of Saxton; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the K. R. Miller funeral home, Martinsburg in charge of Rev. Paul J. Keller of the St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
Friends are being received at the K. R. Miller funeral home, Martinsburg.
