Lillian Patricia Shaw Thatcher, 71, resided in Layton, Utah, when she passed. away. She died of a stroke Oct. 25, 2012.
Lillian was born Dec. 4, 1941, in Salt Lake City. She was the daughter of Virginia Dare Birchell and Adam Evan Shaw. She spent most of childhood in Grand Junction, Colo., and graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City.
Lillian went to St. Benedict's Nursing school in Ogden, Utah, and graduated as class valedictorian. She worked as a nurse in the fields of labor and delivery and geriatrics (working with the elderly in Sunshine Terrace) - her favorite.
Lillian married Robert Thatcher from Logan, Utah, on Aug. 17, 1966, in the Logan temple and lived in Young Ward for many years among friends and family
Mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend; Lillian will be missed by all. She was known for her general kindness, humor and her many talents. Lillian's many talents included art and writing, which she used to tell wonderful stories about her many experiences as a nurse.
She is survived by sisters Audrey Thomas and Diane Mowry; husband Robert Thatcher; and children Mike Thatcher (Heather Thatcher), Tammy Croft (Brad Croft), Lisa Huish (Dave Huish), Rob Thatcher (Mindy Thatcher) and beloved last daughter, Heather.
She is preceded in death by a baby daughter, Diana Patricia Thatcher, sister Annie, brother Lloyd and her parents. -
