His parents were Benjamin Adams and Barbara. The elder Benjamin was born in eastern Pennsylvania, probably Lancaster area, 1792. They had three children. Benjamin, Barbara Ann and Susannah. Daughter, Barbara Ann married Charles Galloway and they settled in Detroit, Michigan. Not much is known of the mother, Barbara. No maiden name found for her.
