Mr. Bennett Hartwell Chappell, age 76 of Senoia, died at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital on May 31, 2017. He was born in Senoia to the late Amos Chappell and Grace Adcock Chappell.
He was employed as a newspaper carrier by The Atlanta Journal Constitution. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church and loved gospel singing and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jo Faver Grant Chappell; sons, David Chappell of Sharpsburg and Tony Grant (Crystal) of Turin; daughters, Kathy Hill (Mike) of Senoia and Joy Garner (Stanley) of Williamson; brother, John C. Chappell (Shirley) of Senoia; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Open Door Baptist Church with Pastors Steve Smith, Tony Grant, and Michael Stewart officiating. Remains will be placed in state at noon. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017.
