Leo Leonard Sellare, age 88, of Perryville, MD, passed away peacefully Monday, March 30, 2009.
Born September 3, 1920, in Perryville, MD, he was a son of the late Vincenzo and Antoinette Vicalio Sellare.
Leo retired February 27, 1976, from Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, MD, after 35 years of service as an artillery repairman.
A graduate of Perryville High School, Class of 1941, he served his country in the U.S. Army from 1942-46.
He was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Perryville, MD, the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135, Perryville, MD.
Leo is survived by his brother, Frank Sellare, and sister, Gladys Hindman, both of Perryville, MD; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Emma Sellare; brothers, John Sellare, Joseph Sellare, Ernest Sellare, Romeo Sellare; sisters, Mary DiAngelo, Ann Reed, Lucy Reames and Margaret Douglas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2009, 11 a.m., at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, April 3, 2009, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., prior to the funeral service. Father Jay McKee of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Perryville, MD, will officiate.
Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, MD.
