L.D. Hankins, 82, of Crofton, KY formerly of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Baptist Health Madisonville. He was born in Hopkins County, KY on April 24, 1935to the late Samuel Owen Hankins and Martha Lynn Hankins Adamson. 

He attended Living Spirit Worship Center in Hopkinsville, KY.

He had worked in service and as a delivery driver for Kentucky Oaks Mobile Homes in Paducah, KY. He had also previously worked as a coal miner, strip miner, and truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Teresa Spurlin; two sisters: Wiladean Justice and Shelby Jean Calvert; and one brother, William “Bobby” Owen Hankins.

He is survived by three children: Felecia Parker and her husband, Myron of Crofton, KY, Trudy Latham of AL, and Michael Bement of Benton, KY; his brothers: Clarence Hankins and his wife, Linda, of Nortonville, KY, Charles Hankins of Dawson Springs, KY, and Jimmy Hankins of Dawson Springs, KY; his sisters: Irene Farris and her husband, Jimmy, of Dawson Springs, KY, Betty Davis of Dawson Springs, KY, and Martha McKnight of St. Charles, KY, and Shirley Shelton of KY; twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2:00pm at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Pastor Aldin Parker officiating and burial to follow at McKnight Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.
