Norma married Byron McManis King, the son of Blanche Harriet McManis and Harry Edwin King, on July 11, 1942 in Webb City, Missouri. Shortly thereafter, Byron went aboard the famed USS Hornet to serve as a medic in the Navy. While he was at sea, Norma moved to Sacramento, CA at the suggestion of her new mother in law, Blanche - with whom she got along with spectacularly.
At the conclusion of WWII, Byron joined Norma in Sacramento, where they continued to reside until his death on October 6, 1996, and her death on May 25, 2017. This marriage was blessed by two sons, Michael and Tom, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
My grandmother was intelligent, stubborn, loved cat (as my grandfather would say), was a shoe girl who liked to watch Dr. Phil, Fox News, and The Good Witch movies on Hallmark channel.
