STARKS.-At the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Norman Brown, In Sun Prairie, of inflammation of the stomach, Mary Ann Starks, In her forty-ninth year.
Mrs. Starks was the daughter of Augustus Daily, now of Cottage Grove, Dane county, Wis.
She was born in Leray, Jefferson county, N. Y., Aug. 6, 1833; was married to A. D. Starks, Nov. 15, 1849. Her husband died In 1836. since which time until two yeas ago she has lived with the family of Dr. J. S. Daily. She frequently went with the doctor to visit his patients who were in the most critical condition, and often by her wise counsel, skillful nursing, and loving sympathy greatly assisted their recovery. She has been in poor health, for several years, but the large concourse of people, composed of many nationalities, that followed her remains to their last resting place, was ample evidence that she held a prominent place in the hearts of the people. She was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church, and also of the Cottage Grove Grange Patrons of Husbandry. Her only daughter and her aged father deeply feel her loss and have the sympathy of a large circle of friends. COTTAGE GROVE, Aug 3.
