JAMES ROBERTSON IS DEAD

"Uncle Jimmie" Robertson, Pioneer and Prominent Citizen Died at Home of Daughter.
News was received here Monday aftenoon of the death at Aubrey Monday morning of James Robertson, better known among the oldtimers as "Uncle Jimmie," a pioneer and prominent citizen of the eastern part of the county. He had been in feeble health for some time, incident to his extreme old age, 85 years, and death was not unexpected. Mr. Robertson came to Denton county in 1857 from Independence county, Arkansas, settling near Little Elm, where he lived almost up to the time of his death which occured at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.B.Holmes at Aubrey.

Most of his life after arriving in Texas was spent at his old homeplace, near Little Elm. Mrs. Robertson died several years ago and since then he had been making his home much of the time with his children.

Surviving him are eight children all grown and as follows: Mrs. G.B. Rose of Little Elm; Mrs. George W. Owens of Denton; Mrs. E.B. Holmes of Aubrey; Mrs.Charles Pearson of Aubrey; Mrs. Allie Thomas of Decatur; Mrs. James Lowderof Sweetwater; William Robertson of Frisco and Lawson Robertson of Gunter. All of his children were with him when death came except Mrs. Lowder, who was unable to arrive in time. George Owens of Denton returned from Aubrey
Monday afternoon and returned again with the children Tuesday for the funeral which was held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Little Elm.
