Sarah was the daughter of Imri Heady and Elizabeth Slavens. She was married to James M. Gillespey (Gillespie) on 31 Dec 1862 in Putnam Co., Indiana.

According to Sarah's Death Certificate, the Cause of Death was Chronic Myocarditis of one year duration. The DC also indicated that Sarah's body was interred at Oak Hill Cemetery on 23 Feb 1931.
