Gard, Opal J. (King), age 94, went Home to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Bethany Village. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis H. "Dutch" Gard, her daughter, Sharon Poffenberger, a son-in-law, Roger Powers, her parents, Foy S. and Nora Grace (Goodwin) King, two sisters, Pam Doane and Lessie Killeen, an infant sister, Lola King and 2 great grandchildren. Opal was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, who will be dearly missed and forever remembered in our hearts. She is survived by 2 sons and daughters in law, Stephen and Patricia Gard, James and Vickie Gard; 2 daughters and a son in law, Francine Powers, Jean and Terry Bohache; 18 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren. Opal is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road with Pastor Dale Bolen officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethany Village in memory of Opal.
