Reported age at time of death was 75 or 78 years, so evidently born about 1852 or 1855 (born MAY 1852 in Georgia, according to the 1900 census). Daughter of Stephen S. & Nancy Ann (HENLEY) BROOKS.

“Miss Laura E. BROOKS, 78, died Wednesday morning at the home of her niece, Mrs. Dorothy BROOKS, in Birmingham. // Miss BROOKS was a former residence of Columbus, having lived in Birmingham for the past eight years, and was a member of the St. Luke Methodist church. // She is survived by two nephews, C. J. BROOKS of Birmingham, and H. G. BROOKS of Columbus; also several great nieces and nephews, both in Birmingham and Columbus. // The funeral will be held in Columbus Thursday morning at 11:55 o’clock, the interment will follow in Linwood cemetery. // Dr. C. Pierce HARRIS, pastor of St. Luke church, will officiate and the following have been requested to serve as pallbearers: John L. HARRIS, George LAPHAM, W. J. RICE, T. B. B. SHORES.
