Pearl was born on August 10, 1922 in Eddy Township to Oscar and Theolina "Josie" (Haugen) Erickson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and attended school in Leon Township. She married Orvin Westrum on April 11, 1942 at the Clearwater County Courthouse in Bagley, MN. Orvin immediately went into the service from 1942 to 1945, during World War II. At that time, Pearl worked as a waitress, a telephone operator, housekeeper, and cook. When Orvin returned after the war, she spent her days taking care of their home and children. From 1948 to 1954, they worked on the road and lived many places where Orvin worked construction in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Arkansas. In 1958, Orvin and Pearl founded Westrum Appliance in Clearbrook where Pearl worked helping with bookkeeping and sales until Orvin had his first heart attack in 1972. She then devoted herself to taking care of him until his passing in 1988. Pearl later worked as a clerk at the Twin Shop for Helen and Hazel Engebretson. She then worked at Good Samaritan in Clearbrook until the early 1990s when she started cooking at Daroo's Pizza where she worked until she retired in 1999.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the Clearbrook American Legion Auxiliary, and 4-H. Pearl was a huge Twins fan and an outstanding cook. She loved bowling, travelling with her husband and family. She loved watching anything her grandkids did. Pearl's greatest joy was being with her family and having those she loved around.

She is survived by her sons, Robert (Rita) Westrum and Richard (Kathy) Westrum; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Westrum; her grandchildren,Jolee (Tom) Hjort, Bryan Westrum, Linde (Scott) Wolff, Jeff(Krysten) Westrum, Chris Westrum, Daenon (Brian) Scobee, Luke (Beth) Westrum, and Matt Westrum; 12 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marlene Westrum, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orvin Westrum; parents, Oscar and Josie Erickson; her brothers and sisters; her son, Jerry; and her husband's family.
