Freddie "Fred" Lee Langenegger passed away on May 25, 2017. He was born on August 9, 1947 to Fritz "Red" Jr. and Zelma Langenegger. Fred graduated from Florence High School in 1965, afterwards going to Business classes in Austin, Texas where he met his future wife, Charmaine Blumenthal.

Fred then heeded the call of his country and enlisted. He served proudly in the United States Air Force for 6 years. While serving he married Charmaine on June 3, 1967 in Georgetown, Texas. Serving 1 year in Vietnam he was honored many times during his service. He earned the highest Honor for his rank, Air Force Commendation Medal while in Vietnam.

After an Honorable Discharge from the military Fred served as a fireman for 5 years for Austin Fire Department. Following that he worked for BJ Hughes, an oil drilling company, for 8 years. Finally he became a truck driver of petroleum products for 30 years plus, for various companies including United Petroleum Transport for 20 years.

Fred loved sports and played them throughout High School and even coaching, both adult and youth leagues as an adult. His favorite pastime on his days off was watching sports. He volunteered both his time and talents for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts for his children and grandchildren. He thoroughly loved reading and shared this passion with his children and grandchildren.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Agnes Charmaine Langenegger; Daughters: Sara Langenegger and Ruth Reyes; son, Aaron Christian Langenegger; granddaughters: Hali Ritter and husband Quinton, Hanna Langenegger and friend Devon, Heddi Langenegger, Bronte Reyes, and Glory Reyes; grandson, Aryton Reyes; brother, Doyle Langenegger and wife Debbie; sister, Carolyn Lowther; nieces: Crystal and Kaylenna Lowther; and nephews, Brandon Lowther and Zachary Langenegger.

A time of visitation will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Ramsey Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Land Cemetery in Jarrell, Texas.
