Alice attended Stephens College for two years before transferring to the University of Missouri where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration. In 1945 she fulfilled a dream when she earned her pilot’s license. Alice was a loving wife and devoted mother. She enjoyed cooking, reading and bowling. She refinished furniture to adorn the family home. Her friends and family learned not to call while her soap operas were on. With her husband, Clyde, they were life-long fans of Mizzou football. They had season tickets on the 50 yard line for over fifty years. She was a life-long member of the Rocheport United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, Alice is survived by three daughters: Sharon Ward of Columbia; Denise (Michael) Parris of Marshall; Michelle (Kevin) McKiernan of Columbia; five grandchildren: Elizabeth (Chris) Neal of Bartlesville, OK; Sarah (Brian) Buchheit of Columbia; Jayme (Ramon) Rivera of Riverview, FL; Colin McKiernan; Bryan McKiernan both of Louisville, KY; seven great grandchildren; two nieces Diana (Jimmie) Wyatt of New Franklin and Sandy McLane of Hallsville. Alice was preceded in death by one sister: Marie Gardner.
Friends will be received 9:00-10:00 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at Parker-Millard Funeral Service with Funeral Services at 10:00 a.m. with the Dr. Michael Parris officiating. Burial will follow in Rocheport Cemetery.
