The following information was taken from a story of Bowater Carson on Ancestry.com

Bowater Carson was born 6 Jan 1775 in New Garden, Guilford, North Carolina to Uriah Carson and Mary Cook. He was the eldest of six children.

He married Charity Pierce in North Carolina on 26 Nov 1796, and there they had their first four children.

The records conflict somewhat concerning when they relocated from Peters Creek, Stokes, North Carolina to Paint, Ohio. According to the claims of Cyrus Carson, he was born in April 1807 in Ohio, however, the census records of 1810 show a "Bowster Carson" living in Peters Creek, Stokes, North Carolina.

Following the birth of Cyrus in 1807, they had five more children, all of whom were born in Highland, Ohio.

Bowater died in Paint, Highland, Ohio on 10 July 1848 and was buried in the Bicksites Quaker Cemetery in Paint. He was survived by his wife, Charity.

In the 1850 census, Charity (age 75) was living with her daughters Mary (age 33) and Lucy (age 30) in Paint, Highland, Ohio. According to the census, Charity was born in North Carolina, and her two daughters were born in Ohio.

After finding a marriage record, it states Bowater & Charity were married in Ohio in 1797

Also: there is only a Paint Township in Ohio, not a town of Paint. Hillsboro where he is buried in within Paint township.
