William Gale "Cork" Pheiffer was born on July 27, 1951 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of William Donald and Gertrude Elaine McMeekan Pheiffer. He married Colleen McGinn on January 20, 1979 in Edelstein, Illinois. He had previously married Roberta Johnson on December 6, 1969 in Alexis, Illinois. He died at the age of 64 on March 27, 2016 in Wyoming, Illinois. He was living in Princeville, Illinois at the time of his death.
At the time of his death he was survived by his wife Colleen, his three daughters, Jobie Pheiffer Thurin and her husband Pete of South Bend, IN, Natalie Pheiffer Conway of Overland Park, KS and Maureen Pheiffer Knight and her husband Tyler of Cedar Rapids, IA and one son Ryan Pheiffer and his wife Amy of Chillicothe, Illinois. Also surviving were eleven grandchildren. He had two brothers Don Pheiffer and his wife Terry of Wyoming, Illinois and Barry Pheiffer and his wife Cindy also of Wyoming, Illinois.
Cork attended Alexis schools in Alexis, Illinois and graduated from Alexis High School in 1969. Following graduation he attended the East Campus of Black Hawk College in Kewanee, Illinois.
Cork owned and operated Ruth Oil Company in Wyoming, Illinois in partnership with his brother Don. He was a member and past master of Wyoming Masonic Lodge #479 A.F. & A.M. and was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rights Bodies. He was also a member of ABATE and loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
