A gathering of friends and family will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care 414 Lincoln Way Ames, with a 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, service at Ascension Lutheran Church 2400 Bloomington Road Ames, Iowa 50010. A Burial will follow at Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Laurene was born November 3, 1927 in Ames, Iowa the daughter of Burnis and Hilda Myers. She graduated from Luther High School 1945.
In 1945, she married Ronald Max Taylor, who preceded her in death 1963.
She then married Kenneth Davis on October 4, 1968 in Ames, Iowa; and he preceded her in death in 2013.
Laurene worked at Iowa State University in the University Student Health Services retiring in 1993. She was also a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Ames, and American Business Women.
Laurene is survived by her children, Linda (Jerry) LoRang of Newton, Randy (Linda) Taylor of Minnesota City, MN, Keith (Cheryl) Taylor of Urbandale; stepchildren, Garry Davis of Elk City, OK, and Rodney Davis of La Vista, Ne; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands.
