Neoma Gillman McClanahan, of Silsbee, passed away in her home on Saturday under the care of Harbor Hospice.

She was the widow of Frank McClanahan, Jr. (former Mayor of the City of Silsbee and local businessman). They were married June 7, 1936, and were happily together over 56 years.

Neoma also was owner of Junior Fashions, a children's wear specialty shop for many years, retiring in the 1960's to spend time at home with her teenage children. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude P and Vallie Shaw Gillman; her husband, a granddaughter Lori Lynn McClanahan; a sister, Eunice Gillman Allmand and a brother Marrs Gillman.

Survivors include a son Jeffrey (Wayne) McClanahan, and a daughter Peggy Pitman and her husband Dennis; grandchildren Travis Pitman, Stacie Pitman Stewart and husband Steven, and Julie McClanahan Bailey and husband Scott; great grandchildren include Tyler, Todd and Madelene Grace (Maddie) Stewart and Morgan Nichole Bailey. Also surviving are a sister in law, Corrinner McClanahan McWhorter and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
