Mr. French was born in Condro, Alberta, Canada on May 21, 1918 to Edward Nelson and Tillisty Meredith (Kirk) French. The family moved to the Moxee area in 1920. Mr. French had been a machinist, having worked for Yakima Chain and Gear before retiring. He ahd been a long time member of the Stone Church where he had been actively involved in ushering and driving church bus. He moved to Apache Junction in 1992 and was a pastor's helper on visitations.
He is survived by his wife, Gwyn French of Apache Junction, Arizona; a daughter, Delethea Goodrich of Chehalis; a daughter-in-law, Sally Abrams of Astoria, Oregon; a brother Ralph French of Selah; 2 sisters, Agnes Sturdevant of Forest Grove, Oregon and Dorethea Evans of Yakima; 2 grandchildren, Amy Abrams and Charles Abrams; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents; a son, Eddie Abrams; 2 brothers, Howard and Ernie French, 5 sisters, Bertha Beghins, Hazel Barrett, Effie Verstrate, Ella Tamburello and Evelyn Curcio.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 1996 at 9:00 A.M. at the Keith & Keith 9th Avenue Chapel. Burial will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park." Yakima Herald Republic, 4 January 1996
