Ann Marie Stewart was the stepsister of George Washington Alford. Their daughter, Stella, died in 1862, a few months before her father died of wounds in the Civil War. Ann Marie and son Frank died within a week of each other in 1864 of cholera, leaving the youngest son (George Washington/Wallace Alford Adams) an orphan.
