"Mrs Gladys E Deverts, 75, a resident of Titusville, died at 12:05 pm Tuesday in Grandview Extendicare. She was born at Eldred, Nov 30, 1898, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Leona Jewell Emerson. She was married to William F Deverts, April 15, 1918, at Mayville, NY. Mr Deverts died Feb 13, 1960. She was employed at the Presbyterian Home as a nurse's aide for five years. She had been retired for ten years. She was a member of [the] First Baptist Church and a member of the Philathea Class of the church. Mrs Deverts is survived by two daughters, Miss Janet Deverts of Pleasantville, RD, and Mrs Paul (Marjorie) Warner of Titsuville, RD 2; two sons, Robert B Deverts of Pleasantville, RD, [and] William P Deverts of Titusville, RD 5; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sister, Mrs George (Lillian) Rook of Bradford and Mrs Herbert (Beatrice) Wescoat of Titusville, RD 3; [and] numerous nieces and nephews. One brother and two sisters died previously. Friends may call at the Gordon B Garrett Funeral Home....The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 pm Friday with Rev Earl Staples, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and Rev Vernon Whitney, retired minister, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery."
