Joyce Jean (Counts, Ostberg, Peterson) BLAIR

On March 7, 2017, Joyce Blair passed away at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, NV.
Joyce was born in Oklahoma on May 28, 1943. She moved to Spokane as a child with her family, where she lived until she was 41. She spent the last 32 years living in Las Vegas, NV. Joyce attended Havermale Jr. High and North Central High School.

She was the President of the PTA in the 60s at Willard Elementary. She played softball, loved to bowl, and to play games with friends and family. She was a hard worker and worked all of her life in various occupations. She retired as the manager of the Boulder Station Casino gift shop in 2009.

Joyce was known for being very smart and for having a big, open and caring heart. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She was always eager to welcome you to her home and make you feel very welcome. And for a quick game of Yahtzee.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Calvin Blair, her parents, and her brothers John Counts, Gary Counts, and Sam Counts.

She is survived by her brothers Robert Faison (Karen), Dennis Faison (Cyndy), children Scott Ostberg (Deanna), Eric Ostberg (Kathy), Keri Campbell (Jimmy), Dan Blair (Sally), Darlene Sorenson (Jay), 13 grandkids, 10(+) great-grand kids, numerous nieces, nephews, and caring family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held one day before her 74th birthday on May 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home - 1315 N. Pines, Spokane Valley, WA 99206. All are welcome. Online condolences may be posted at www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com.
