James W. Hulsey, owner of Hulsey's Foods Inc., here, died at the Columbia Hospital Sunday at the age of 54 after an extended illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday from St. Mark Methodist Church with the Rev. C. E. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Hulsey lived here 23 years while operating the wholesale food concern. He was born March 3, 1908 at Cumming, Ga.; the son of John L. and Maggie Castleberry Hulsey. He was a Shriner and a Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eddie M. Hulsey; a daughter, Mrs. S. G. Baxter, Houston, Tex.; two sons, B. J. and J. E. Hulsey, both of Columbia; a sister, Mrs. W. M. Haynie, Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, C. E. Hulsey, Forest Park, Ga., and four grandchildren.

Active pallbearers are Jack S. Moss, Pickens Swygert, James M. Farr, W. P. Derrenbacher, W. F. Baughman and Joe E. Taylor.
