TERRE HAUTE MAN COMMITS SUICIDE
Jesse COULTER, 53 years old, committed suicide at the residence, 3001 South Ninth Street, about 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning by shooting himself through the head with a double-barreled shotgun. His wife said that he drove her to work Saturday morning and when she arrived home at 5:30 p.m. she found him lying dead on the bedroom floor. He left a note stating that he had taken his life because of ill health. He had been employed at the Snow Hill mine for several years. Deputy Coroner D.M. FERGUSON, Jr., was called and returned a verdict of death due to suicide. He is survived by the widow, Elizabeth; one daughter, Helen, of Indianapolis; one brother, Fred of Linton, and one sister, Mrs. Timothy COAKLEY of Linton. The body was taken to the Callahan Funeral Home.

Burial Notice for same JESSE COULTER Terre Haute Star Monday, July 15, 1946 BURIAL AT LINTON FOR SUICIDE VICTIM Funeral services for Jesse COULTER, 53 years old, who committed suicide at the residence, 3001 South Ninth Street, Saturday, will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Callahan Funeral Home, after which the body will be taken to the Welsh & Cornet Funeral Home at Linton where services will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The Linton Lodge No 560, F. & A. M., will be in charge of the services at the Fairview Cemetery at Linton. An electrician at the Snow Hill Mine for the last several years, Mr. COULTER ended his life with a shotgun charge Saturday morning because of ill health, according to a note which was found by his wife when she returned home after work Saturday evening. Deputy Coroner D. M. FERGUSON, Jr. returned a verdict of suicide. He is survived by the widow, Elizabeth, one daughter, Mrs. Helen DAFOE of Indianapolis; one brother, Fred COULTER of Linton; one sister Mrs. Timothy COAKLEY of Linton and a granddaughter.
