Dr Carnine is a native of Iowa and is about 50 years of age. He was educated in the public schools and in our church colleges in his native state. His ministry embrased 12 years in Iowa, 6 in Kansas and 12 in Colorado. In 1894 he was made presiding-elder if the great Rio Grande district which demands the most heroic service and a great deal of it. Here he proved himself such a master that Bishop Mallalieu took him off at the end of 4 years and placed him on the Denver District to succeed the prince of administrators, Rev B T Vincent. On the Denver District he justified fully the estimate of Bishop Mallalieu of him, in that he has handled most skillfully and helpfully all the problems he has had to contend with in adjusting the debts on churches and on the university, beside those which are ordinary on any district. He will doubtless be a most efficient member of the Book Committee. *from "Northwestern Christian Advocate" Vol 50 19 Feb 1902.
