William Harvcv Dees, 83, 204 N. Douglas St., West Frankfort, died at 5:20 p. m. Tuesday at Union Hospital, He suffered a stroke early Tuesday morning at the home of his son, Dwight, one mile west of West Frankfort.
Mr. Dees was born in Frank in County, north of Zeigler, Dec. 6, 1875. A retired farmer and Spanish American War veteran, he had lived in West Frankfort 34 year's. His wife, Mrs. Emma Pope Dees, died in 1957.
He leaves children Dwight; Mrs. Burlis Dillard, West of West Frankfort; Ellis Dees, Urbana; brother Alva Dees, Christopher; Raleigh Dees, Gary, Ind.; Damen Dees, Napa, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Reedy Funeral Home. The Rev. Clinton Crim and the Rev. Glenn Wheeler, pastor of the First Christian Church, W e s t Frankfort, will officiate.
