Elizabeth Frances Scorsune, (nee Vass), died peacefully at the age of 93 at St. Joseph's Ministries in Emmitsburg, MD on May 17, 2017. She was born into a large family on January 18, 1924, growing up in Washington, D.C. She was proud to have worked during WWII at the Pentagon. Her husband, Anthony John Scorsune, of 55 years, predeceased her.

She was a devoted mother and mother-in- law of 4 children and their spouses: Thomas C. Scorsune and wife, Peg, of Morris Plains, New Jersey, Anne M. Roessler and husband, Jim, of Middletown, MD, John A. Scorsune of Walkersville, MD and his former wife, Karen, and Joseph A. Scorsune, who predeceased her. She was a grandmother who greatly enjoyed her 10 grandchildren: Matthew Scorsune of Mendham, NJ, Jon Scorsune of Morris Plains, NJ, Katelyn Scorsune of Morristown, NJ, Krista Scorsune of Boston, MA, Lisa Fox of Catonsville, MD, Philip Roessler of Williamsburg, VA, Steven Roessler of Springfield, VA, Tom Scorsune of Windsor, Colorado, Tim Scorsune of Clarksburg, MD and Tony Scorsune who predeceased her. She delighted in her 13 great-grandchildren: Colin, William, Emily and Julia Fox; Ryan and McKenna Scorsune; Vera and Robert Scorsune, Lucy, Lena and Libby Roessler and Nolan and Grant Roessler.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Frederick and volunteered, when younger, in the church office. She was an active volunteer at the ARC of Prince George's County where her youngest son, Joseph, received care and supportive services.

Family and friends can gather at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 118 E 2nd St, Frederick, MD 21701, on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 11:30am until the start of the funeral Mass at 12:30pm, with Father Kieth Boisvert officiating. Interment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10:30am.

The family would like to thank the excellent care she received at FMH, St. Joseph Ministries and Hospice of Frederick County.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ARC of Prince George's County or Hospice of Frederick County, MD.
