Mrs. Vertie Mae (Lawson) Davidson, 81 of Montgomery, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday May 17, 2017.

She was born June 1, 1935 in Winnfield, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents Matt and Lorena Longino, her husband James O. Lawson, son James K. Lawson, son Michael Lawson, son Russell Lawson, daughter Cheryl Lawson and her sister Brenda Ferrier.

Mrs. Davidson was a homemaker famous for her homemade buttermilk biscuits and coconut cake but she will forever be remembered for her tremendous strength and faith. Although she endured more loss than any one person should ever endure, she always showed love and compassion to everyone she knew. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Buddy Davidson, sister Charlotte Sharbaro (Teddy), brother Jerry Longino, brother Donald Longino (Pat), granddaughter Tonya Ayres (Fred), and Angela Lawson, great granddaughters Stephanie Sanders (Andrew), Leighanne Ayres and great great grandson Barrett Sanders, step children Ronnie Davidson (Emily), Elizabeth Allen (Tommy), Patricia Kelly (Tony) and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Northside Baptist Church on Friday, May 19 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Saturday, May 20 from 9:00 AM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday May 20, 2017 at Northside Baptist Church with Brother Brad Webb and Brother Scott Tilton officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Fred Ayres, Andrew Sanders, Luke Davidson, Reggie Longino, Johnny Voss, and Tema Brouillette. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Longino and Teddy Sharbono.
