OSCEOLA - Robert E. Bevilhymer, 90, of Vistula Road, Osceola, Indiana, passed away at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, following an illness. He was born on August 27, 1926, in St. Joseph County, Indiana, to Ray and Sarah (Quier) Bevilhymer, who both preceded him in death along with a daughter, Lois Ellen Bevelhymer. On June 23, 1946, he married the former Norma Burger in Mishawaka to whom he enjoyed 70 years of marriage. She survives along with two sons, Ernie (Jennifer) Bevelhymer and Robert (Kathy) Bevilhymer, along with two grandchildren, Savannah and Seth. The family would also like to acknowledge his honorary son, Satyia Agarwal of Bangalore, India. Bob was a Veteran of the United States Army in World War II, serving his country proudly as a member of the 82nd Airborne. He was owner and operator of Century Soft Water in South Bend, Indiana, until his retirement. He was a member of Grace Brethren Church of Niles, Michigan. Over the years, he enjoyed camping, and traveling in his R.V., Fishing, Hunting, Snow Mobiling, playing cards, and boating on the St. Joe River with his family and friends. Bob never met a person he didn't like. He also loved to fly model airplanes and dance. Funeral services for Bob will be held at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, on Friday, May 19, 2017, at 12:00 pm. Friends will be received from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday at the Funeral Chapel and also two hours prior to the funeral services on Friday. Officiating the services will be Rev. Mike Ostrander and Pastor Ron Welsh. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Indiana. The family would appreciate memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to The Niles Grace Brethren Church, 1928 East Bertrand Road, Niles, Michigan 49120.
