Lida Ann Bridwell
Lida Ann Bridwell, 96, of 146 Montague Road, died March 11, 1987 at Oakmont Nursing Center West of natural causes.
She was born in Greenville County, S.C., OCt. 31, 1890, a daughter of the late George and Polly Ann Burns Bridwell. She was the oldest member of Reedy River Baptist Church and was also a member of the Mothers' Sunday School Class of Reedy River Baptist Church. She was active in all phases of church work as long as her health permitted. She was a retired farmer and also a member of the WMU at the church. She was predeceased by a son, Walter L. Bridwell, who died in 1970.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Mrs. Polly Reese of Greenville; a daughter-in-law, Emma Bridwell Childress, also of Greenville; two great-granddaughters, Mrs. Yvonne V. Nuckolls and Miss Ann Vernon, both of Greenville; one great-grandson, John (Mickey) Vernon of Greenville; and one great-great-granddaughter, Miss. Loren Brown of Greenville.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Reedy River Baptist Church, with the Rev. S.P. Hester and the Rev. Gerald Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The body is at the Howze Mortuary, where the family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
The family will be at the home of Polly and Troy Reese, 140 Montague Road, Greenville, S.C.
