Verle Larsen Hartley
October 12, 1932 - May 15, 2017

Verle passed away May 15, 2017 in Ogden, Utah. Verle was born October 12, 1932 to Cyril Hubert and Lillian Lavena Larsen Hartley in Ogden, Utah.
He graduated from Ogden High School, class of 1950. He married his sweetheart Alice A. Speedy on June 22, 1956, in Ogden, Utah.

Verle was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War on the destroyer, USS Brown.

Verle worked for Marquardt, Murdock and Flameco. He operated Intermountain Tire in Brigham City. He retired from Weber County Mosquito Abatement.

Verle loved cars. He could fix or build anything. He built the summer home in Bear Lake with his sons and family. He liked WWII history and the airplanes. Verle was a family man. He loved spending time with his loving wife and family. They were his pride and joy. He was honest, fair and a friend to everyone. He loved to make people laugh.

Verle was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Alison Marie Hartley, a brother, Lynn Hartley and a sister, Afton Wilson.

Verle is survived by his wife, Alice Hartley, his children: Maureen (Steve) Magagna, Dan (Cindy) Hartley, Roger Hartley, and Jennifer (Sean) George; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; his siblings: Erma (Doug) Wilson, Nelda Hadley, Shirley Mendenhall, and brother-in-law, Wilbur Wilson. He is also survived and loved by his many nieces and nephews. They all called him "Bud".

Funeral Services will be Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Thursday May 18, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., and prior to services on Friday from 9:40 – 10:40 a.m.
