Eloise 85 years of age, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017, in Sulphur, LA. She was born June 21, 1931, to Lawson and Shirley Babers in Winn Parish. The care and welfare of her family were the most important pursuit of her life. She was the most loving and encouraging mother any child would ever want. Her love for all children didn’t just end with her family. She assisted her husband Benny with the Hackberry Recreational Center and treated each child as if they were her own. Eloise was a talented cook and prepared many delicious meals for her family. Her talents in the kitchen were equaled by her abilities in the garden. She could grow anything but was most proud of the over 60 varieties of Day Lilies she cultivated. We take comfort in knowing she is with her savior in heaven and reunited with her husband and all those that preceded her.

Eloise leaves behind many treasures she cherished including her only son Jeffrey Sanders and wife Cheryl; her daughters Teresa LeBlanc, Jeanne LaFleur and husband Tim, Tara Poole and husband Dewitt, and Lisa Sanders; grandchildren, Julia Benoit and husband Josh, Lori Sanders, Paige Spencer and husband Bobby, Brett LeBlanc and wife Misty, Alonna Ardoin and husband Chase, Andrew LaFleur and wife Christin, Leah McMillin and husband Justin, Anais LaFleur, Addilyn Poole, Ashlyn Poole, Aubrey Poole and Alexandra Poole; great-grandchildren, William and Henry Benoit, Dale and Daniel Spencer, Mason LeBlanc, Adrienne Ardoin, and Amelia LaFleur; sisters, Louise Jones, Gladys Corbitt and husband Charles, and Carolyn Bedgood and husband Arnold.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Benny Sanders; parents, Lawson Babers and Shirley Durbin Babers; a daughter, Elizabeth Sanders; and a son-in-law, Terry LeBlanc.

Because of the huge place she held in her heart for all children, in lieu of floral contributions, donations in her name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
