David Gale was born in Oxford, the last born child and son of Ebenezer Gale and Elizabeth Green. David's older sister, Prudence, was the wife of Jonathan Kenney, Jr., a second cousin of Daniel Kenney, Jr. David married Elizabeth Kenney, a daughter of the aforementioned Daniel Kenney, Jr., in Sutton on 9 March, 1756. David served in the French and Indian War.

The Gale family removed from Sutton sometime between the last registered birth in Sutton of daughter Judith in Dec 1761, and the first registered birth of daughter Olive in Warwick in Jan 1764. As written in Elizabeth's short biograph on her Find-a-Grave site, Elizabeth probably died by or in 1770 before David remarried a woman whose name is still unknown (to me at least) as there is no marriage record for that event, nor even a death record for her in Warwick vitals. Even in David's will he only refers to her as "my wife"--no name. He had only two children with his second wife, Jesse in 1772 and Alpheus in 1774.

David's will was written in 1799 and was requested to go to Probate in Dec of 1814, and actually probated on 31 Jan 1815. In it, it is clear as to who were the children of his first marriage and those of his second. While there is no known stone of David's, as well as Elizabeth, they are surely buried in the Warwick cemetery. However there are many Gale's in that cemetery who are of his progeny, who do have markers.

Children of David and Elizabeth (Kenney) Gale:
John born 28 Aug 1757 in Sutton
Huldah born 10 Feb 1760 in Sutton
Judith born 30 Dec 1761 in Sutton
Olive born 17 Jan 1764 in Warwick 19824935
Mary born 28 Feb 1766 in Warwick
David, Jr. born 23 March 1768 in Warwick

Children of David Gale and unknown 2nd wife:
Jesse born circa 1772 based on age on tombstone
Alpheus born 3 Oct 1774 in Warwick
